Webinar to Increase Awareness on Safer Workplace

An online seminar was organized on 28 May 2020 with the objective of helping in the industries to operate assuring safe workplace in amidst the epidemic of COVID-19.
Such webinar was deemed necessary in the context of the loosening lockdown and gradual resumption of essential business and services.
The webinar was attended by over 90 participants comprising of members of Auto Mechanics Association of Nepal, ENSSURE-related CTEVT and Helvetas Nepal staffs, Helvetas Nepal’s country director, and the ENSSURE-affiliated technical institutes.
Nearly 3-hours long webinar contained two presentations, by a health expert and an OHS expert.
Association chairperson Thakur Prasad Neupane commended the effort of ENSSURE, a bilateral project of the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland saying it as a timely and beneficial.
Thakur also pledged to implement the learnings of the webinar immediately including devising guidelines for the safe workshop and construction/improvement of necessary structures for this for the safety of the owners, workers and customers.
Another participant, Achyut Nepal, a representative of the Federation of Training and Employment Service Providers of Nepal requested ENSSURE to conduct similarly customized webinar for the technical institutes.
ENSSURE has already conducted two such webinars with different associations to make the workplace safer in COVID-19 situation.
