ENSSURE Signs MoU with Hotel Association of Nepal

Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE) has signed a MoU with Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) on 17 September 2017.

The main objective of this MoU is to create synergy among hospitality industries’ associations/federations, project and project partners to support in the achievement of project goal of decent employment opportunities for Nepali workers, particularly from disadvantaged groups, benefit from continuous employment and improved standard of living.

This MoU expects ENSSURE to conceptualize, design, develop and make logistic arrangements of the tasks in cooperation with the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN).

Some of the tasks that will be considered under this MoU Such tasks include assigning a focal person for regular coordination, orienting member companies about the MoU, encouraging the members to cooperate with the CTEVT/ENSSURE to establish dual VET system and providing information about occupation wise human resource demand and apprenticeship opportunities among others.

HAN’s President Mr Amar Man Shakya and CTEVT’s Member Secretary Pushpa Raman Wagle signed the MoU amidst a ceremony.

Speaking at the programme, Wagle said that as both CTEVT and HAN were striving to deliver quality service to the people as HAN was providing the career opportunities to the graduates of CTEVT’s training courses. He also assured that though brought together by ENSSURE project, the cooperation goes beyond the project duration because the cooperation is carried out as per the need of the country.

On the occasion, Shakya reminded that there was a need for skills training quality in the hospitality sector to the youths of productive age. He added that such training would benefit the productive youths who are deprived of employment and opportunities.

The MoU will remain valid until the end of the first phase of the project, i.e. 31 December 2019,
