Review Meeting of ENSSURE Project Held

ENSSURE organized a 2-day review meeting on 8 and 9 December 2019 with the objectives of discussing work progress and finding solutions to the existing challenges, understanding the current state of the project and its components, identifying and prioritizing the objectives/initiatives for the following quarter and enhancing inter-regional team collaboration.

During the meeting, a federalism expert, Krishna Sapkota made a presentation on working with local government in the federal context. While sharing the existing provisions including federalism-related laws and policies, he suggested a pathway for the project to realize federalism in Nepal.

Dr Bharat Pokharel, the Helvetas Nepal Country Director coached the team on how to work as the technical assistance providing team while shedding light on the organization’s transformation from the working modality as the implementing agency towards the technical assistance provider. Dr Usha Bhandari, the program officer in SDC shared stressed on the importance of monitoring for better project implementation.

Tek Bahadur Malla, CTEVT Director and erstwhile ENSSURE Project Manager shared about the milestones of the YPO while the provincial teams made presentations on different components of the Project including Training with OJT, Apprenticeship, Career Guidance, and OHS and HRM. Visibility guidelines needed to be followed were also shared and their adaptation was recommended.

An update on the output figures of the last two rounds of training under EVENT II and updates on the third round of the training were also shared.

The provincial teams also shared their experiences and devised their plans for the cost extension period.
