Itahari Aims for Wider Coverage of Career Guidance Program

ENSSURE Provincial Office, Itahari has conducted a coordination meeting with Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City, Itahari with an objective to ensure effective implementation and to collect the reflection of schools implementing career guidance program.

Ms Laxmi Gautam, Deputy Mayor of Itahari Sub-metropolitan city said, "We have expanded this program from two schools to five, after learning its effectiveness". She added, “It is now a program of the local government, we aim to expand it to all 16 secondary schools next year”.

The Deputy Mayor also committed to discuss the program’s effective implementation with the experienced schools, teachers, students and incorporate its components in other sub-metropolitan programs, especially in the municipality child radio program.

Under Secretary Ambika Sha of the Education Unit of Itahari Sub-metropolis, expressed her gratitude towards successful implementation while naming a municipal employee Uma Dahal as the career guidance focal person.

At the meeting attended by 25 participants, the career facilitators from five schools shared their experience and progress of career guidance session delivery.

ENSSURE is implementing the career guidance program in schools for the grade 9 students of five schools, viz. Sharada Secondary School, Kachana Secondary School, Jobdi Secondary School, Sambhunath Secondary School, and Jyoti Secondary School.

Rekha Uprety, the provincial coordinator of ENSSURE Itahari addressed the queries and feedback in the meeting.
