Career and Job Fair in Birgunj: The First in Province 2

A career cum job fair has been organized in the premises of Trijuddha Secondary School, Birgunj on 8 February 2020.
Speaking at the inauguration, Birgunj Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi said that the purpose of the fair was to address the situation of unemployment in the city and the Province. He added that from the next year, the fair would be a week-long.
Earlier, thanking the Birgunj Metropolis for organizing the first such fair in the Province, State Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut said that coordination and cooperation with the provincial government in such activities can yield desirable results.
Speaking in the same inaugural program, Federal MP Pradeep Yadav said that high-risk work taken up by the unskilled youths is one of the reasons for their untimely deaths asking the government to provide the skilled needy youths with a zero-interest loan for a business start-up which can reduce youth unemployment.
There were 46 stalls in the career and job fair and was visited by over 10,000 people. The students and youths seeking jobs filled the forms as per their skills and interest.
A stall by ANTARANG also provided career orientation to the students and youths.
Office of the Small and Cottage Industries, Parsa, Office of the Labor and Employment and Hotel entrepreneurs’ organization along with ENSSURE, a bilateral project of the governments of Nepal and Switzerland supported the organization of the career and job fair.
